Just a drive-by post today, I'm afraid; its been a long and mostly craptastic day, and this night owl is struggling to stay awake at the ridiculously early hour of 9 pm. But it's notNaBloPoMo, so something's got to go up here.

How about a link to a recipe I'm hoping to try this winter...once "my" parsnips in beentsy's garden are harvested?

Parsnip Cake (yes -- CAKE!).

Knitting stuff tomorrow. Really.

  1. Okay, stupid question time, because you've reminded me. I enjoy parsnips, but was never fed them growing up. So, I've had to learn to cook them as an adult. When I've cooked them, they come out tasting fine, but they smell awful to me when they're cooking. Sort of like... I don't know, something musky and inedible. Is this something other people notice, or do I have some kind of speshul snowflayke nose when it comes to these vegetables?

  2. Hmmm...I've never noticed an unappetizing smell when cooking parsnips. Maybe I'm too excited at the prospect of the noms to notice?
