A eureka moment

Ok, I think I may have found the perfect Ravenclaw-bronze yarn. And a great blue, to go with it, to boot.

Chances are, I've lost at least three-quarters of you with that first sentence. I hope you come back for tomorrow's post. 

For the rest of you...those of you who understand the difficulties faced by book purists, take a look at this:


This is the beginning of a felted needle case -- my Transfiguration homework for the House Cup on Ravelry. The yarn: Elann's Peruvian Highland Wool, in Golden Bark and Tapestry Blue. Now, these photos weren't taken in ideal circumstances (11 pm in my basement apartment, under a lamp); I'll try to get another one in natural light tomorrow. But I'm pleased. I think the Golden Bark is closer to bronze than any other yarn I've seen yet.


Honestly...it's not as orange as it looks here. Really.
